Events in Widnes From 30th March – 5th April 2026

You can find a steady current of live music events in Widnes this week, from intimate acoustic sets at community-run spaces to full-band performances at locally operated venues across town. These gatherings are rooted in ongoing local effort rather than short-term tourism, many hosted by resident musicians or volunteer collectives with deep ties to neighbourhoods like Broomhill and Daresbury. On Tuesdays, a regular soul night takes place at The Old Engine House; Friday evenings feature genre-focused line-ups along the riverfront near Silver Jubilee Bridge, where outdoor concerts occasionally happen during favourable weather windows. Family-friendly programming continues to be available, after-school music and storytelling sessions run weekly in public spaces like Widnes Library’s multipurpose hall or on weekends at St. Mary's Park Pavilion. These events offer green space access as a consistent feature across the town’s calendar. Comedy nights happen monthly at small bars such as The Tally Ho, with open-mic slots welcoming new performers, no entry fee required. Conversations often extend beyond punchlines into civic topics: East Midlands Railway service updates, footpath closures on Jubilee Bridge, or the slow rollout of Mersey Gateway infrastructure. All events reflect Widnes’ quieter cultural rhythm, a place where gatherings grow steadily but persistently. They are not designed for spectacle; they exist because people choose to attend and contribute in small ways each week. The schedule below lists times and exact locations within the town centre.
